The Ztar Z6 series is built on our small-body electric guitar shape with a carved top. The Ztar is not a real guitar but a responsive all-electronic emulation of a real guitar, the result of 30 years refinement. Because of the wide variety of players and requirements, you select the options you need, the details you want. You build the perfect MIDI guitar controller for your needs. All of the Z6 models use the same body shape and fingerboard.

The Z6S is a full-service “kitchen-sink” Ztar™ MIDI guitar controller that comes as close as is possible for a completely digital instrument, and in a comfortable traditional guitar shape. The Ztar Z6 series is built on our small-body electric guitar shape with a carved top. The Ztar is not a real guitar but a responsive all-electronic emulation of a real guitar, the result of 30 years refinement. Because of the wide variety of players, you select the options you need, the details you want. You build the perfect MIDI guitar controller for your needs. All of the Z6 models use the same fingerboard. The model-name changes to identify some basic differences in how the guitar is configured:

Z6S = Actual guitar strings triggers for the picking hand (This is our most popular and most guitar-like controller.)

Z6 = Rubber Drum pads and Rubber String triggers for the picking hand (The Rubber TriggerPads and Drum Pads are great for Electronic Music where a lot of control features are used. The Triggers themselves have a touch more like a keyboard.)

Z6 DLX = Additional custom pads/knobs/controls/features (There isn’t one standard version of the DLX)

Being truly polyphonic, the Z6S can simultaneously play multiple notes per-string per fret. This means your can easily play complex piano voicings that are impossible on guitar. Two-hands tapping performance is where the Ztar fingerboard really shines.

The cutting edge touch-sensing keyed-fingerboard has been developed with 32 separate programmable zones, each with its own channel, voice, transposition, tuning, hammer-ons and sensitivity settings. The strings have programmable tunings, and each key on the entire fingerboard may be tuned independently as well. The embedded arpeggiator as well as the programmable chording system may be assigned to separate fingerboard zones, layers and/or frets . This fingerboard system is highly suited to Drum mapping. Think of 144 drums at your fingertips! Combine percussion with loop playback, or add accompanying chords with a single touch.

Over the years we've found that the Ztar offers many more features than most people will ever use, but that each player often discovers at least one useful new feature that improves their musical life in some way.
