OS Updates
Here you will find the Starr Labs OS downloader application and current Operating Systems for each of the Starr Labs MIDI controllers using our current CPU hardware.
The Starr Labs OS downloader is an application that will run in your WinXP/ Vista computer to program new operating system firmware into your Ztar.
Both the downloader and the various OS-files are self-extracting zip files that will install into a new StarrLabs Downloader directory insde the Starr Labs folder in the Program files directory, the same folder that also holds our USB drivers.
Inside the Starr Downloader folder you will find the Downloader itself and a “Data” folder that will contain the operating system for your particular instrument once that has been installed. This web-page will always contain the most current version of the firmware for each model of Starr Controller. After the downloader app has been installed next download the OS for your instrument. When you run the downloader it will find any Starr Labs OS files that have been installed.
First, connect your computer to the Ztar via its USB port.
Installing the Downloader is a two-step process.
1) Download and install the OS-downloader to the PC.
Download Starr Labs OS downloader application.
2) Download and install your actual OS into the PC for use by the downloader.
When both the downloader and your OS are installed in the computer, run the downloader from the desktop shortcut, StarrDownloader.exe. The installed Help file will provide complete instructions.
